At EyeQ Optometrists Cavendish we offer one of the largest selections of designer and fashion eyewear in the Western Cape, our store has an on-site optical lab to offer a quick ( often within the hour ) turnaround time for glasses and lens fabrication as well as a broad assortment of branded sunglasses, frames and contact lenses.

They even had fun stickers that kept both of my girls smiling. What touched me most was how they included something special for my daughter’s twin sister so she didn’t feel left out. Such a thoughtful and kind gesture.

Only recommendation is that they should add payment options like Payflex or Optiplan in the future.
My family and I have used Eye-Q Cavendish for many years, but after my last experience, I feel compelled to explain why we will not be returning.
While my usual optometrist, Francois, has generally been good, he has a strong penchant for the upsell, particularly on add-on coatings. On my last visit, I wanted to upgrade my driving glasses and get new bifocal lenses for computer use. He promised me "computer glasses" so effective that I wouldn't need separate reading glasses.
I noted he was eager to have the receptionist add coatings, and the bill for two sets of lenses alone (I used my existing frames) came to just over R15,000. I thought this was excessive, but trusted it would be worth it if they worked as promised.
They did not. The computer glasses were an absolute disaster and completely unusable.
I ended up having a new pair made by his colleague, which are merely passable. To add insult to injury, they then sold me another separate set of frames and lenses for reading (which, thankfully, do work well).
I am left feeling like I was completely taken for a ride and, frankly, scammed into buying an expensive, high-margin product I did not want and which failed to work. It all comes across as simple greed. I cannot recommend them anymore.
